On January 28, 1890, the Vanport Presbyterian Church was formed through the efforts of the Rev. J. K. McKallip, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church of Beaver. The first pastor called to serve the newly formed Presbyterian Church of Vanport was the Rev. Allen Krichbaum. The small church continued to minister to the needs of the community of Vanport through its ministry and mission. Improvements to the church building were continually made and a manse was built in 1954. In 1961, the congregation was informed that the Pennsylvania State Department of Highways was claiming the land upon which the church and manse were built for the construction of the Beaver Valley Expressway, Route 60. The present church building and manse were built on a location one quarter mile away.In 2010 we added an addition used as the new sanctuary.

Community Dinner

Thursday, December 5th, 2013 @5:00pm
Each month a devoted group of volunteers prepare and serve dinner at the Grace Lutheran Church in Rochester. These dinners are usually held the fourth Thursday of the month from September through June. Volunteers do all the cooking themselves and we have some mighty fine cooks and bakers! These dinners are funded by the gracious donation of one of the members of our congregation and the donations to the Souper Bowl.

The number we serve varies-anywhere from 27 to 66. The number of volunteers varies each month. We welcome anyone who wants to join us but in order to better coordinate our efforts we ask that you notify Tracy Starkey in advance and let her know you will be joining us. We also have members who cannot come but prepare food. We are very grateful for their generosity and involvement. Volunteers arrive at 5:00pm, dinner is served at 6:00pm, and we leave after clean up- always before 7:30pm.

Please join us!
